  • I recall these Lp's and 8 tracks in the mid to late 70's. Ronco was especially good at promoting HUGE artists on their sets but the songs were very edited. It was almost like a sampler of sorts (a 2 minute version of Piano MAn - Billy Joel... LOL)

  • Paul Anka? Pure Power? Sheesh!

  • Record is $5.99, the 8 track is $7.99. I can see another reason why 8 tracks died out. It cost 2 bucks more!

Cassettes existed alongside 8 tracks. All someone had to do was to buy the record, then record it to cassette so it could be played in the car.

  • @floppy2121 LOL! :o)

  • @wannawatchu66 - You're right; two (2) "N"s.

Looks like my spell-checking department needs a spell-checking department.

  • @floppy2121 Looks like two Ns to me.

  • @kfirmedia Hahaha! You got that "sample edit" stuff right! I finally caught on one day, back in the 70's, when I taped enough of those K-Tel beauties to fill the A side of a cassette and only found it 2/3 used when I was done recording!

  • @kfirmedia I've only heard of those Ronco compilations, living in France. I wonder what they were like.Even Kurt Cobain did mention a Ronco record set called "Good Vibrations" that his parents owned (3 record set or something).

  • I miss 8track tapes, that was the height of technology

  • I have this album. Have you ever wondered how many times you have bought the same song? Album, 8 track, casette, CD, computer download....gets costly. I recall cassettes with a single song on them also for like one or 2 dollars each.
