It was not prophetic, it just described the situation he experienced. A situation that has been like this for a long time now.

i was the drummer in the support band FUSE on the thunder and consolation tour. i was privileged to see the sound checks and the rehearsals. This song sticks out as my favorite. Rob and me worked out how to play a double bass pattern with the floor tom instead of getting another bass drum -(the old days) R.I.P. wonderful drummer friend. Thank you for your love and inspiration.

This song c hanged my life when my parents brought me home this CD from Seattle for me in 1991. This song especially. Long live the message of 225!

@Waver80 We do have a band like this today. They're called New Model Army :)

@acidxtasy999 That's my band. I'm the lead triangle player. We're doing a gig at the Corn Exchange in Tripoli, tickets still available.

Justin Sullivan is perfectly aware of how big of a prick Cromwell was. He named the band in honor of the more radical elements of the New Model Army, the Levellers amongst them, who ended up being persecuted by Cromwell for their socialist beliefs.

to acidxtasy999 it wasnt oliver cromwells new model army it was sir Thomas Fairfax who had the new model army and yes they did slaughter 1 village in hrs in ireland which i believe was not right we all have a right to this planet we live on but they are a good band and justin does sing true and right things so i carnt hold that against him maybe if u listen more u will understand , but as a born and breed english person u do have a point bout us over there it was not right just arrogance

This is truly an amazing song. I had to travel to Europe in '89 to be introduced to this band. That's sad.
great song great band - oliver cromwell and his new model army were the worst murdering bastards ever to land in Ireland - i wouldnt call my band after them it would be like george bush junior and his fabulous muslim killers band :))))

@acidxtasy999 there's no such thing as bad publicity in music.
A band called "Bush and his Cold Blood Murdering Mates" could go a long way.
Sarcasm is one of the few weapons we can all afford and easily (leagally) carry around. Not all "mistakes" take us the wrong way...
Peace :-)
