Recently we took two spokespeople of Alyawarr country - Richard Downs and Ngarla Kunoth-Monks - to New York to take part in the United Nation's most important forum for Indigenous Peoples Rights.
At the UN Permanent Forum II, Richard and Ngarla were able to speak out on the rights violations taking place in their community and across Australia on the world stage, while also being able to draw on the experience of how other Indigenous Peoples across the world have dealt with similar problems.
We've put together this short video of Richard and Ngarla's trip to let you into this little known side of Amnesty.
