  • I had this washer ever since we moved into this house, but the transmission screwed up and we replaced it with an Electrolux IQ touch

  • @BFMVpwnage5168 Thats all that was wrong with this machine. It cost me £10 for the part and i watched a youtube video on how to carry out the repair. This machine was left for scrap in a yard.

  • Ah a WP catalyst, nice washers.

  • Thanks. I don't have the space for it but always wanted one. I will get it plumbed in one day.

  • strange washning machines in america.... never ssen like these in europe

  • Love the Whirlpool Direct Drives have 2 myself. A 1986 Ltd edition Kenmore and a mid 90's Whirlpool. I love them.

  • @MrForkfan These are sold in the UK. They are from the USA. We used to be able to buy these in the electrical stores but now they are only really for commercial use. Hotels etc.

The front loaders are much more inexpensive here and a lot more economical. My front loader takes 9Kg where as this machine is just a little over 8Kg.

I picked this one up for £20 as it was left for scrap. Cost only £10 and its like new. Just way too large for my kitchen.

  • Whirlpool is the best!

  • @acameronuk1979 Yeah...it was a very nice washer

  • Why buy a fisher and paykel there so gentle they dont clean and eventually leave crap on your clothes.

  • I'm looking for an agitator top loader, im getting a bit busy for my twin tub, and i don't like front loaders. How wide are these machines? Cos I see em coming up now and then for sale, and I have used one of these Whirlpools when i worked for a big pub chain....got 61cm wide space. Keeping a lookout for an old Hotpoint top loader though..

  • good ole' american whirly
