@anulhyf34 yeah but on the list of top records of the 2000's they put Sea Change above albums that got 9.0 and higher. They put it above an album that got a 10.0.
So I think it's more about the one person rather than the consensus.

@ChunkyTomster53 nah, it's definitely better than his recent stuff post-Geuro, but before that it's just like all quality, but each with their own thing, suitable for different moods and different feelings. Those five records from Mellow Gold to Sea Change each become my favourite Beck record after I hear them. It's really about your position at the time.

@ChunkyTomster53 Shit's on the lot for me. Best Album he's done. I think it came out at the end of 97 or 98? Anyway it was only out for a month in the UK and it won Album of the year by NME. Desert Island album for sure. Peace.

Beck has made some definitive covers - but this isn't one. It's off possibly his best album, Mutations, and is his own. If you haven't heard it, I suggest you check it out. It was produced in 14 days - a day a song - and has a combination of blues, bossa nova, country, Indian music and folk that can only be described as 'Beck.'

Off the album that Pitchfork reviewers will be butting heads against for years to come. meh... they gave Sea Change a 6.9 so I shouldn't even mention them..
