@MadameChristie Exactly this. It's set (I believe) 600 years to modern Tokyo because Yuca was reincarnated at the end, and it took him 600 years to reincarnate before. So that's like 1400s --but they didn't have cars back then (or projectile weapons, or mechanical amusment parks xD) so it leads me to believe exactly what MadameChristie has said: an alternate Earth timeline. Well, that's what I've always thought.

I always assumed that IR took place in an alternate Earth timeline, as opposed to being st in the distant future of our own, Oh well, Bith work I guess.
I am loving the scanlators right now XD *so awesome*. This series is just screaming to be made into an anime. Here's hoping they do ^^

He went through the second world war till 23rd century. The second one is my guess.

It was written during that time, but it does not take place then.

If you look at the technology during Matchika's time then compare them to Yuca's memory montage during the 7th book, you will see that they're currently in the very distant future. The author first wrote the series in the late 1990's.
so was 600 years ago Rains time now? like was it early 2000's 1990's?
