Discovery Elementary School in San Marcos, CA is trying to raise money to upgrade their infrastructure and technology in their classrooms. This fun parody of the American Idol talent show uses teachers as the talent and very enthusiastic students as the audience to explain the reasons they are working to raise money and how YOU can help them.

The school was built in the 90's before it was common place to install ethernet and other technology infrastructure. Unfortunately, the school's district doesn't have the funds to upgrade the school's infrastructure due to statewide budget cuts that show no sign of ending. The parents, teachers, staff and students are determined to bring all of their classrooms up to current standards, though. One of their fund-raising endeavors involves participation in the Clorox-Sponsored Power A Bright Future Grant Program, which gives them the chance to win up to $50,000 for the school.

The grant proposal has been submitted and accepted by the program - now it's up to the public to support Discovery's proposal by voting twice each day until December 9th, 2011.

The school is off to a great start and is currently in the lead of over 1500 other proposals, but they need your help to make it to the finish line. Please help them out by voting twice each day until December 9th! There's no charge for the texting (aside from your own carrier message fees), and the web site registration is quick and simple.
