the tempo would never have been that fast. the sound is to dark and the ends of phrases would be a lot lighter. There should be more forward and arching movement instead of so much downward phrasing. The flute should play out of the continuo. Baroque players did not think of the continuo in terms of harmonic tonic dominant relationship. They experienced such relationship. Thus the tempo needs to be slower.. the phrases were cut off and nothing was breathing.
