SOUNDS OF GLOBAL WORSHIP
MALAWI AFRICA: TONGA PEOPLE

It is hard to believe that mid last century very few Christians were found among of the Tonga People of this region. A great move of God occurred over the last 25 years and has birthed many Christian churches among the Tonga people. The significant growth and impact of the church in Malawi is largely due to its indigenous leadership rather than that of foreign missionaries. From the beginning, the movement was fueled by exuberant indigenous singing and dance. Such you will experience as you view this video.

The Tonga language is one of 7 primary languages of Malawi and, as is characteristic of each language group, specific dance movements accompany its music. What you view here is just a small segment of a longer worship time, which we were both pleased and honored to experience together with them.
