http://bit.ly/tc0Cx This is the back of my aquarium. The tank consists of 12 Electric Yellows, 5 Cobalt blues, 4 Red Zebras, 3 Ps. acei, 5 Ps. kingsizei, 5 Mainganos and two large fish that are supposedly male Ps. saulosi (but if you can confirm this for me it would be great...if not, tell me what species they are !!)

  • I just purchased 2 Acei and they were much darker than I thought. Do they naturally come like that? I have some Cichlid Excel pellets that I'm starting to feed it hoping that could help.

  • there may be different strains of Acei available. There should be a good contrast between their bodies and the yellow tail. A good cichlid food will also help

  • by da way awsm tank n fishes also tell me is there any thing like colour loss with this fish plz do reply am waiting its very urgent

  • all fish can lose their colours under certain conditions. For example, if kept in dark conditions. But just like some parts of their diets will enhance their colours, they can be fed stuff that will have a detrimental effect on their colours. As long as you keep feeding the EYs with a diet similar to wht they'd get in Lake Malawi (ie mostly plant-based), you shouldnt have any problems. Check your local fish shop for colour enhancing food

  • could i use the power filter for electrc yelow will it suits for thier breeding

  • that should be no problem because the babies are protected by the mother in her mouth. The more water flow and fitration, the better !

  • Nice set up the tank is huge and beautiful cichlids i miss my old fish need to clean my tank to start all over again. I'm obsess with them my favorite fish!

  • could u plz tell how to identify male n female

  • thank u so much bro for ur advice

    peace...T.C

  • The cobalt blues in my tank are no problem whatsoever. I've never seen them get overly aggressive towards any of their tankmates. When they get older they add a really nice contrast. The males are slightly lighter blue than the females. The tank has changed a bit since I shot this video, so I may just do a quick update video soon..
