what Jung is saying is that we are surrounded by death in this moment.
There is death on every level.
And yet those who do not have a living realstionship with Jesus Christ (not religion!), with undergo a SECOND DEATH in the after life.

I'm so glad we have filmic records of this wonderful, wonderful man. It's one thing to read his books, but to see the light in his eyes and hear the colour in his voice as he speaks about such astounding mysteries is engaging on a whole other level. :)

That's what Hinduism teaches. The Godess Shiva is both a destroyer and a creator and the contradiction of these two racically different polarities are burried in transcendance. I agree with your comment. That may explain a lot of things about human nature. As a culture for instance we want to see our favorite movie stars succeed but at the same time it's fascinating and completely human to wish for their failure. Two sides of the same coin. Atman/Brahman, Yin yang good and evil, sex and death.

I agree with you. Sex and especially its culminating phase, orgasm, is called in French "le petit mort" which means "the small, or little death".
Without exaggeration, Carl Jung might belong to the pantheon of the greatest intellectuals of human history. He was misuderstood by the scientific establishment of his era and unfortunately, despite the recent advancements in psychology, still is.
