  • Well done. Good background music. I had never heard this story until now.

  • My mom was 7 years old when the flood of 55 came rolling in.

  • Wow that dancing (especially the jitterbug!) was fantastic! I grew up in and still live near the Yuba City area... never knew about this awesome moment in history! Thanks for posting :)

  • Walt was an American institution in the truest sense of the term. Here we have a group of kids presenting good will for the sake of other kids... (Sorta like Miss America does to the rest of the world), He's like the Red Cross in that his monies went to buy Christmas presents to a devastated community. What a human to idolize and try to use as a mentor. God Bless you Walt.

  • Walt Disney was truly amazing! I did not know that this happened until I just cam across this video. I will have to ask my parents & in laws if they were present at this event.

  • bono and sting ain't got nothin on this

  • My mother's only sister lived in Yuba City off John Tee Drive. I remember riding her Schwinn through the walnut groves and having the best time when we visited her. R.I.P. Aunt Floritha (Rita) Turner.

  • Thanks for posting this clip. I grew up in YC and my parents told me a lot of stories about how they lived through it. I never really thought about the impact on the children until now. I wish I could make it back to YC to see more of it.
