Dexter Romweber Duo live @ the Grey Eagle 5.21.2008. My first Dexter/Flat Duo Jets show was in 1986 and I had an overwhelming feeling that this guy was gonna be HUGE. It's 2008 now and I still wonder why he's never gotten the credit he was due. Maybe the world will never be ready for the Dex. That said, see "Two Headed Cow" and you will understand what I'm talking about. He is playing with Sara Romweber his sister who was an original member of the legendary band Let's Active and then went on to play with the Snatches of Pink.

  • This guy is an American treasure. It's so rare to see someone who can still make rock and roll scary and unpredictable.

  • It's "Need a Whole Lotta You" by Benny Joy. I asked Dex about this tune last time I saw him play. Benny Joy is a rockabilly guy from Tampa, Florida that Dex loves.

  • simplesmente cool

  • oh los weones bakanes!

  • @jehouse Agreed - cool stuff, and so much energy. Sara really gets a full-body workout on those drums!

  • The next time I see Dex, I will undoubtedly be handing him one of the two custom-made guitars I am in the process of making. We are close buddies from Chapel Hill. I've since moved to Portland Oregon and have hung out near his venues when he toured here. I await his return, but by the time I get a chance to visit chapel Hill, I'll have the duo of guitars made. Jack had all dex's recorsds as a kid. I LOVE Jack's choice of guitar, I will be cloning it from old church organ wood steampunk style.

  • And his sis is almost Georgia Hubley.

  • linkrayz, I'm with you. I have no idea why Dex hasn't gone much further by now. I was in Athens in 85/6 when they first moved to town, and I thought the same thing the first show I saw. He's still as great as ever. Amazing musician, amazing thinker, amazing energy. I just don't get it.
