  • a very good remake.

  • Elliot Easton got the jangly guitar down pat. For me, the jangly guitar is what makes the song. I don't care for the synthesizer on here but I realize it was the 80's and is to be expected. I wonder why it didn't show up on "Shake It Up"? I think it was worthy of inclusion.

  • Why are The Cars doing a demo of this song when "Bebe Buell" released this song and some others on an album in "81"? Who in The Cars were hittin that? Obviously, Steven Tyler was :-(

  • I think the Night Crawlers sounded great with what they had in 1967. The cars do this song very well, but it's 1981. Technology and electronics got a lot better. Yet, I still like it better by the Night Crawlers. :))

  • @mkp823 it's also noted as a Demo on their 2 disc Anthology collection :). Recorded early 1981 during the Shake It Up demo sessions.

  • @mkp823 actually if u listen to the other Cars demos uploaded by dcmichael (They Won't See You, Wake Me Up etc) u will notice that their Demos don't really sound like Demos, more like polished studio recordings. This is definitely a demo, I mean c'mon listen to "Since You're Gone" or any other track from Shake It Up and compare it with this and "Funtime" (demo). You'll notice the difference. The Cars wouldn't release something this unfinished like this.

  • @bekkaromeo - not to argue, but are you sure this is a "demo"? Lots of production here (echoed vocals, synth parts, etc.). Just sounds more like a finished track (or nearly so) that they abandoned for the album.

  • @JustinSepheren That's certainly one way to look at it!

  • @bekkaromeo

lol...Then that's actually saying a lot! I know this was released as a demo, but it has a professional quality to it that anyone could appreciate (at least people with taste). Because in actuality, as a demo, this does outshine the Nightcrawlers version.
