ArkLight Arsenal: 1 of 2: LedEngin 10W Purple Saber Test

1 of 2 test videos of a LedEngin 10W RGBA LED. Driven by an UltraSoundv2.5 (I run through the complete setup menu in the video). 7.2V 14500 pack using AW cells. The Red and Blue dice are wired in series for a violet blade. The Greed and Amber dice are wired in series for a yellowish green colored blade. There is a selectable switch to change between the two colors with the press of a button.

Altogether, a VERY satisfying violet blade, brighter than a 3W RGB.

Wow, you guys are quick with those comments --I just posted this ten minutes ago! Thanks for the kudos...no Crystal Focus available for this saber so I decided to make it a color change saber to make use of the Green and Amber dice, instead of having a purple blade WITH amber clash. That's for another video coming soon...

Do they look like this in real life, with the white core and color shimmer, or is it the camera's light adaption mechanism that makes it look whiter when it's far and dimmer when it's closer to the lens? .-.

In order to get that purple color, did you need to use a resistor or did you just wire the board directly to the LED? Thanks.

Does that led have a focusing lens on it? or is it just the leds? Its really bright. Did you put diffuser film in the tube?
