Rare Transformer Toys, Filmed in Akihabara, Japan (Vintage and New) [720]

Film these transformers for a chap on Youtube. Shops like this exist all Akihabra, stocking rare and expensive figures from anime, manga and videogames. It's not unusual to find glass cabinets spanning eight floors, filled with figures.

These were shot at a few locations when I happened to have my camera with me. If you're into any action figures it's worth a trip to Akiba if you're in Japan at all. You won't be disappointed.

Shot in June, 2009. At time of filming ¥10,000 was equal to about £68, gives you an idea of pricing.

That's Rodney (Yes, Rodney) one of the rarest Transformers, like, ever, 19900 yen is actually a really good price for him, I still wouldn't pay that much, but, he usually goes for way more. <=v

I've even gone to the lengths of putting spare money into a jar till theres enough for one.

It's a steady supply but it'll take a couple years.

I remember being in that shop over the summer on my vacation last year...and openly weeping when I saw the boxed Fort Max on the top shelf for 120000 yen. The price wasn't what got me all emotional it was the fact I had no way of getting it home to the states :(
