First recorded: February 15th, 2007: In celebration of Black History Month, Mike Estes appears to discuss with us, Black Freethought from the 1900's to 1950's. We will look at many of the very influential black freethinkers, unknown to most, that were involved in the civil rights movement and black intellectualism.

A memorable quote from the show:

"That is our tradition! A tradition of educating ourselves and beating the odds and mastering the rules that white society have put on us, and once you master those rules
then you can change the rules." - Mike Estes - Speaking out in response to those that don't find value in speaking the white man's English well.

  • There needs to be some more "Black Freethought" about this bullshit called "Black History Month" that only goes back to the slave ships, and thus keeps Black Thinking chained to White People.

Black History is 99% about Africa and has nothing to do with white people. That should be the freethinking for Black people to think about.

  • You criticize this guy for not focusing on love after calling him a child of Satan? News flash: people who disagree with you are just people, not hellspawn.

  • fuck the fidels :O

  • Wow - the posts I've just read. What's wrong with 'reason, compassion and friendship' when it comes to people that have different ideas or background? Everyone on the planet has more in common than they have in differences. But then again, we're all 'social animals' trapped in the limitations of our own backgrounds and lack of understanding - destined to repeat the past. Running in circles around groundless bias and the status quoe. Think bigger than what you know... at least try it out
