I really Vang Vieng, very beautiful and calm place. Who cares about the goverment and politic shit. As a tourist I always try to enjoy my vacation and what the local offer and getting know the beautiful local people. I would love to go back to laos again.

Hey Chefkou, what you're describing goes on in practically every third world country. It's also going on in the jungles of Burma (Myanmar). But you can't blame the entire country. If that was the case you better not leave the States.

damn Chefkou, so much hate man. You can't blame the innocent people and the country for the evil acts of just a small group of people. The people there don't have much, so don't hate them. laos is natural and beautiful.

laos may seem beautiful here, but if you know what's going on out there in the jungle of laos it's not so beautiful. They are a filthy communist country who kills, raped, and tortured women, young girls and many families. Don't let this country fool all of you of being beautiful, because behind this beauty there are killing secrets. Want more info go to youtube Hmong tortured and you'll see what I'm talking about.
