How To Hack a Hard Drive to Get a Neodymium Magnet

I will show you how to get neodymium magnets out of a hard drive. (caution: this will make the hard drive USELESS. so please only disassemble a hard drive that is no longer working!)

This video is approx 10minutes long, please be patient while it loads. If it is choppy, then you may wish to pause it while it loads, and check back in a minute or two to watch it with no delays.

    You can have fun with the brushless DC motor too. You need a controller for to run it but, you can use it for all kinds of neat projects.

  • so just basicly take it apart until you see a magnet

  • the read/write arm sometimes need to be taken off with either a flathead screwdriver on the arm it self or if you turn the unit over, there might be a cover over the hole that connects the arm... (i've done quite a few myself so i know)
