The people who are selling these for cheap are making a big mistake. The reactor just needs better pickups. The reactor is a fine instrument well balanced weight wise and the neck is like a 70's strat but wider because it's to simulate pedal steel guitar. It is wide spaced so you can make wild bends and play finger style . Plus the treble pickup is enhanced by the metal pickup tray giving it a twangy pedal steel guitar sound. It is as good as a fender tele. Peavey makes good stuff.

I bought a peavey reactor back in 91 brand new because I liked the neck but wanted something different but I was into heavy rock at that time so I abandoned it. Fast forward 15 yrs later Im into country guitar chicken picken johnny hiland type stuff and just finally took a gamble and put a set of fender texas custom single coils in this guitar it is a twang beast now. . It twangs like mad more than my usa strat. It's like someone took a equalizer to it. unreal. it breathes life finally.

How good are Peavey's in comparison to Fender's?

I like em all. Peavey strings are spaced father apart on my reactor than my fender (made in mexico) strat.

So their about the same? Also, how much did the reactor cost? I'm saving up for one for £120.00, but I don't know if it's a reactor.

Yea I like them and they don't seem to cost much. I like the wide string spacing for finger picks. Thanks
