Eel didn't do the morphing. That video went around in e-mails. The audio that went with it was replaced with a bit of David Bowie's song.

It's surprising to see him go at 50 but at least he outlived Elvis by 8 years and John Lennon by a decade. On the other hand it's not that shocking when you think of the pressures of that degree of fame and the stress it causes.
