  • jazz isn't dead, it's just hiding...

  • This clip fills me with a certain pride and sadness. I'm proud to have known and played with some of these players. I'm proud that the CBC had enough taste and moxie to deem this music important. I'm proud that they had a respect for their audience, such that they weren't afraid to air this.

    The sadness?

Seemingly, he CBC seemingly has no interest in putting today's crop of jazz musicians in a similar playing situation, and hasn't for at least a generation. Respect for their audience? Gone.

  • McCoy Tyner's Inception! a long form Minor Blues, from a great trio recording.

  • Class.
