Leyland Olympian Gray Line Seattle Sightseeing Cummins ECW Coach

Views and video showing the three Leyland Olympians at work with the Gray Line Sightseeing operation in Seattle, Washington, USA. These Olympians were built in the UK with chassis manufactured by Leyland to a left hand drive format with Cummins L10 engines and Voith gear boxes. They were bodied by Eastern Coach Works (ECW) in Lowestoft with impressive coach bodywork and exported to San Francisco for sightseeing and touring work. Four of these survive in Seattle, and all can be seen in this short video.

No, they ceased in 1993- Volvo had taken them over some years before and just kept the Olympian in their product range until 2000.

Several different coaches in this video (3, I think). It's difficult to see just who the driver is in any of them, altho I think I detect Rich Higgins. I've driven all three, and there are so many left turns in the trips that the left-turn dash indicators are all burnt out!

40 started out its life as a closed-top double-decker, hence the cloth seats. Nice & comfy, but not such a good idea in damp weather.
