Brought to you from Thunderf00t, this superb series explores the unproven beliefs that are treated as factual by many religions and the extremes to which some followers have taken them. Case studies in this series include various creationists like VenomFangX, Kent Hovind, Ken Ham and just the fundamentalist Christian population in general.
I have a new religion. It's called U tubeism. God is you moniter and U tube is Jesus.

thunderfoot, shortening telomeres are only one of the causes of aging.
we also know about oxidative damage (see following link)
and loss of genetic control due to acquired mutation.
So when this Hovind guy cited xray damage, he wasn't wrong.
exposure to ionising radiation causes an accumulation of mutations throughout our lives. As a result there is a reduction in fidelity that increases with age.

ozzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, On a subject I would rarely have faith in a persons opinion, I recognize your opinion was gained by proper incentive. Either necessity was the mother of invention or you knew desperation her twin sister. You speak from experience, and few have the depth of your understanding because they were only curious :) Ponder this What is greater imagination or knowledge?

BSD is another secure system but I am not sure what kind of progs and utilities it has.
If you get a Debian Linux based system like Ubuntu or Mint, then they have an incredible update system that continues to bolster and update the entire system, including add on programs every day.
I believe the other base systems (Redhat or Slackware bases) have similar systems nowadays, but I don't use them anymore.
Have fun.

No purchase required. Linux OS flavours are usually free. Ubuntu, Mint, fedora are all free and usually come with an entire suite of Office, Internet and other utilities. I double boot into either Ubuntu or Mint. I also have Windows XP on the system but won't use it ever on the Internet. I only use it for games, language and Bible programmes (although Linux sports pretty good Bible progs).
Check out the computer mags, esp Linux specific ones. research the systems.

Me too, and you realize how many households face the same problem you have solved? Seems there should be some way you could get paid for your solution. Whether as a testimonial/spokesman for Linux or some type of referal fee. I don't share your opinion on evolution, but I do recognize and fully respect your knowledge on Linux operating systems. Enough so, I will be researching fully expecting to purchase at some level.

I initially loaded it cos the kids kept stuffing up windows. Once I installed Linux they couldn't change a single thing below the desktop level. They hated it, I loved it. Incidentally, I'd prefer this conversation to the others we are having.
