London, UK (15/12/10) -- The outrageously funny WWII satire JACKBOOTS ON WHITEHALL marches onto DVD on January 24, courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

JACKBOOTS ON WHITEHALL is an uproarious satirical alternative history of World War II where the Nazis seize London, and the nation must band together to repel the invaders. It is the astonishing debut of writer/director brothers Edward and Rory McHenry and boasts pioneering techniques in animatronics and CGI animation,

The film features an incredible line up of voice talents, including Ewan McGregor, Timothy Spall, Rosamund Pike, Dominic West, Alan Cumming, Richard E. Grant, Tom Wilkinson, Stephen Merchant, Richard Griffiths, Richard O'Brien and Sanjeev Bhaskar.

The film premiered in June at the Edinburgh Film Festival where it uniquely received a unanimous Special Mention from the jury for the Michael Powell Award.

Synopsis:
The action begins as the Nazis - led by the campest Hitler on record (Alan Cumming) - plan an invasion of England. As Winston Churchill (Timothy Spall) plots an evacuation to Scot Land... somewhere in England's green and pleasant countryside, farmworker Chris (Ewan McGregor) is trying to win the heart of Daisy (Rosamund Pike) while rueing the fact that he can't fight for his country because his "hands are too big". When the Germans finally invade and blitz London, it falls to Chris and his countryside cohorts to come to the rescue and the raggle-taggle band head to Hadrian's Wall to seek help from the "bloodthirsty" Scots.
