he hearing aid is 'in-ear monitoring'. imagine how hard it is to hear yourself and your band on stage amongst all the noise going on. thebreakup123456 is referring to 'click tracks', which i doubt a band like matchbox twenty will play with as most bands like this don't. if you're trying to co ordinate live parts with pre recorded bits you might use one but this is completely live so the ear pieces are to hear each other as clearly as possible you don't need huge monitors at the foot of the stage
