One of the guys in my highschool had a cleft palate, and I thought he was the cutest thing ever. He was also in an amazing metal band. He didn't let it get in his way! Do you mind me asking why you moved so much?

Honestly, cleft or no cleft, you are absolutely gorgeous. All girls have self esteem issues. Yours is really well done. Its your little quirk. You are probably more beautiful with it... even if that sounds strange! I can't believe that anyone would bully you, you are so out going and friendly.

I'm 14 and i have a cleft lip and cleft palate and have had at least 6 surgeries. Hopefully I get well soon, and I hope everybody with a cleft palate get well also:)

I was born with a cleft of the soft palate, had it repaired when I was 15 months. I went through the ear problems with tubes. I had speech therapy. I had an overbite, because of the cleft palate, repaired. Plus dental work to expand the width of the palate and braces to fix my teeth. I'm 29 now, and have no problems because of it.

Wow, I'm seriously so inspired. I feel so lonely sometimes because I feel like no one else goes through what I go through but now I know I'm not alone & it gives me so much more security. I've had the exact same surgeries you've had & feel the exact same way you do. But we are really priveledged because some children can't afford to have their cleft pallate fixed. & Thank you so much for bringing up the college thing. I'm a sophmore in HS right now but those are some really good ideas I can use

Hmm very interesting video, every now and then I will search this topic. This is probably the best video I've seen yet.

Kind of sucks that you have to cover the scar every day with makeup, but it's cool to see you're on top of things, I was curious how the scar line is invisible lol.

I just grow out a mustache+beard so it's less prominent, as for teasing and stuff. Well for me it ended around 20yrs, but people still judge like crazy, can see it in their eyes -_-

My little brother is 8 almost 9 and was born with a bilateral cleft palate. He has went through about 6or 7 surgerys and you can barely tell except for his nose cause right now its flat kinda like Ushers.  But he is so cool about it and hes the sweetest little guy youll ever know. He's actually very popular which I'm surprised just cause he's a weird little kid but thats why the kids love him.

@EmilyIsStealthy i hope i just want friends again i used to have lots of friends like LOTS few months back but lost most of them and it got me depressed because lot of them were girls hwo were really attractive and now i dont think ill be able to get any friends like that ever again but i guess you might be right ill just wait or whatever haha

Katya, im from Chile i have 18 and i had a clef palate in both sides of my mouth, now im recently with my jaw surgery and you really inspired me, makes me see the things in another way, a much better way. I really understand you when you talk about people watching your lips, everyones does that with mines !, and i felt so identified with your story in a lot of ways. Thank you so much, and i will copy you the idea of a book with all my 8 surgeries, answer me soon :)

@rozz2656 i have a cleft palate aswell, i think you should jut try to be yourself and if you just treat the cleft like its apart of you (which it is) it shouldn't bother you as much, and as for getting a job, this should not affect your working skills, like i said just be your self, goodluck!!

i have a question i have cleft lip and palate and i am way to self concious to talk cuz of my voice unless im fked up but is it easy to get like a job with this disorder because i want to make money with a legal job but idk if i should because the way i look
