@NyaS92 That doesn't apply to everybody. Puerto Rican people who are not triracial are not less Puerto Rican than those who are.
-
Not all Puerto Ricans have roots going back far enough to be mixed, though. There are plenty of "pure" white Puerto Ricans (of European extraction) and mestizo Puerto Ricans without African ancestry. In fact, they (including my paternal family) are the majority...
-
@MsKittenz1 I don't know why all Puerto Ricans think they are triracial, because they are not. Genetic studies of Puerto Rico only puts Puerto Rico's African ancestry at 23.2 total from both paternal and maternal sides combined. That's means 76.8% of Puerto Ricans do not have African ancestry. Most Puerto Ricans do not have African ancestry. Most are either white or mestizo (white/Native American mixed race).

@BXGUY73 True, Puerto Rican culture is a creole culture, meaning a native born culture coming from it's own land, but you do know that in Latin America, criollo (creole) means native born Latin American whites? Many times cultura criolla in Latin America is seen as native born white Latin American culture. But it can refer to native born culture and food, independent of race, much like in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

@NyaS92 See my previous comment. Please see this video of the different races of the Hispanic group that I made. It breaks it down completely: /watch?v=w6qQmY7KYwA

@NyaS92 See my previous comment. Mami, Hispanic is not a race. Also, not all Hispanics are mixed race. Some are white, some are black, some are Amerindian, some are Asian and Arab. Most of the mixed race Hispanics are not triracial, but biracial mestizos (white/Native American). Actually most Puerto Ricans are not triracial either. Most are either mestizo or white, but in the U.S., most are pardo/mestizo/mulatto, because they were poor and came for work. Most white P.R's have money.
-
@NyaS92 Nya, you are 100% right. Puerto Ricans mixed more than Cubans. In Cuba, they were more seperated. Whites with whites, blacks with blacks, but some mixing did take place to create a mulatto racial group there. But Cubans are either white, black or mulatto. In Puerto Rico, there are many whites and blacks, but also many mixed races like mulato, mestizo, zambo, pardo (triracial). D.R. is pretty mixed too, mostly mulattoes. Most Cubans in the world are white.

@LKB504 See my previous comment. I love New Orleans too, I'm from there. My family is from Canary Islands, Spain though. I was born and raised in New Orleans.
-
@LKB504 What kind of Puerto Rican is your ancestry? Puerto Rico has whites, blacks, and mixed race people like mulatto (black/white), mestizo (white/Native American), Zambo (black/Native American) and pardo (white, Native American, black). Depending on your Puerto Rican mixture, you could then determine your ancestry. Most Puerto Ricans do have white admixture, whether they're white or a mixed race. If you are black American (especially from New Orleans), you could have white admixture.

@heaty007 Some Puerto Ricans are white race, some are black race, some are mulatto race, some are mestizo race, some are triracial. Puerto Ricans are like Americans, they have many races among them.
