This is the percolator I wanna buid and it all seems pretty straight forward but, everyone's seen and knows how percolators work, and demonstrations are in my opinion unnecessary. But I would like to see some demos for construction!.. Neither NC Hiker nor Yourself say what tin y'all used for the basket and lid..would love a clarification on that please..

What I like is the willingness to share ideas. In this fashion, we can all improve the ideas we have as individuals in ways only possible with many points of view. Peace.

Damn, I love the internet...

Now there is an Idea Robert! I know where I can get my hands on some of them snap rings(top middle drawer of the tool chest in my shop). Now all I have to do is find a tin!

Oh word, I'm going to fall back on this as my manual... Nice vid dude!

A 3/8" hose snap ring? I am not too sure where I can find that around here... I will have to dig. Thanks for the tip, Robert! And yes, JBM is tasty. Expensive though. Peace.
Dude, I love this idea. Where did you get the tin for the basket, and how did you make the bottom plate? I watched NCHiker1970;s vids and didn't see the answer to either of these questions.

The tin is a 6 oz. tin. I had to find an online supplier for it, but some crafts stores carry "candle" or "storage" tins that fit the bill, so you may get lucky going that route. Just take a rough measurement from a Heiny-Pot and do some treasure hunting. Either that, or Google "tin can suppliers". The bottom is made from a left-over concave section of the bottom of a Foster's can with a hole drilled to accept the tubing. Check Proto #2 in my videos also, if you wish. I hope that helped! Peace.

You all got something going with coffee! Is this kind of like the Youtube Backpackers Coffee Club?

Yup, you might say so. For me, coffee drinking is a pursuit, like fine cigars, wine tasting, irish whiskey, scotch, or cognac. There are no shortcuts. It also helps me limit consumption when the coffee I drink (Jamaican Blue Mountain) goes for about $50 a pound. Some may be fine with coffee in bags or cowboy coffee, but I want to do the coffee justice. NCHiker1970's percolator fits the ticket for a Heiny Pot setup. Some journeys are better the long way around! Peace.
