quelle belle époque ce fut que cet avenementde la guleghina lors de ce macbeth à la scala...; on y a cru .. une grande soprano se dressait devant nous ... Helas.. cela ne dura pas. Pourtant si l'on écoute bien , tous les défaults flagrants voire insuportables aujourdh'ui de la guleghina sont déjà présents, justesse parfois aproximative dans les aigus, vocalises douteuses, et petite tendance à pousser un peu le son .. Mais Mutti veillait au grain !!!

Shes far better in verismo. this is the only part of the opera where her voice is even semi suited to it. her earlier scenes of this where only so so. a great artist though, just not good with florid work. her queen of spades recording rocks though

l'ho acoltata in diretta tv nel 97 alla prima alla Scala adesso che la riascolto a distanza di anni sono sempre piacevolmente soddisfatto dalla Culeghina bella voce adatta alla drammaticcita di questa parte.

She is an excellent Lady Macbeth. Not the most solid and amazing voice, but it has a great metallic and penetrating warmth. Despite her large and vibrant voice, she has the ability of nuance and colouring that is essential in Verdi operas. Her acting is very powerful, both in vocal and physical terms.

She knows the style, she is an imaginative actres and has the right kind of voice for the role... but, she has poor discipline, specially in the low register, where she can produce a hole plethora of weird unfocused sounds...
But with so little good Ladies around, she´s definetely a must-see
