Benefits Abound Around Lake Tahoe!
Locals and visitors alike came out in support of some great causes this weekend and Tahoe TV caught all the action. It started off with the Pink Party in downtown Truckee at the Bar of America. This annual fundraiser is sponsored by the Tahoe Luna Chix and proceeds go to support both local and national breast cancer groups. The place was packed with party-goers in all manner of pink costumes and the live and silent auctions were a hit. Next up, Foam Fest at the Tahoe Biltmore on Saturday night. This beer extravaganza featured 35 breweries, live music and a raffle with amazing prizes and is a fund raiser for Disabled Sports USA, which helps the disabled get out and enjoy outdoor recreation. On Sunday, everyone who was anyone headed out to Alpine Meadows for an event variously know as "Fro Stock", "Fro Nation", "Fro Fest" or "In the Mood." What ever you called it, 1500 people showed up to raise funds to help local author and Tahoe institution Robert Frolich with his battle against cancer. It was a truly touching scene as the regions best restaurants provided amazing food, individuals and businesses offered up unbelievable auction items, and everyone sent their love and support to Fro who was able to make an appearance via video tape to send his thanks.
Tune in to TahoeTV for all you need to know about the Lake Tahoe Region.
