Tanzorchester: Thore Ehrling - Sehnsucht (The Longing) slow-fox (Ehrling, Tarragon), Telefunken ca 1943 (Germany)
NOTE: Thore Olof Gottfrid EHRLING (b. 1912 in Stockholm, Sweden - d. 1994 in Lidingö, Sweden) Swedish composer, arranger, bandleader and trumpeter. In 1931-1935 he studied in althorn and trumpet class at the Musikkonservatoriet, Stockholm. Yet, after studies he was attracted by playing jazz and in 1938 he founded his own dance band. Soon, he became one of prominent figures in Swedish swing-scene. During 2nd World War, like many Swedish artists (e.g. film actresses Kristina Söderbaum, Zarah Leander or operetta and music-hall singer Sven-Olof Sandberg) he gained the success in nazi-Germany and his band often recorded for Telefunken and Odeon in Berlin. In the years 19391970 he recorded over 1 000 sides in Sweden and abroad.
Thank you for this nice upload, however I have to correct some fact Thore Ehrling never touring or recording anything in nazi germany, or was pro nazi. Telefunken also had their own recordings in Stockholm, one reason he recorded for Telefunken was that the war was blocking the possibility of importation of schellack. Just Sonora (Swedish label) had possibillities to print their own disc in Sweden. Also american owned labels was printing the records for Swedish market in Germany.

Mellow and moody. Sehnsucht is a frequent feeling of mine these days. Also love that new word for me, "Traumlastic."
