St Helena.
Jeffrey Barbee is sailing Across The Great Divide with Deon Tulleken, exposing the most striking hot-spots of biodiversity in the Atlantic Ocean before they disappear.
This expedition takes us from southern Africa's Cape of Good Hope to the islands of St. Helena, Madaleine and the island of birds. On this very special trip, we are meeting with scientists working with breeding whale populations, covering airport construction on St. Helena, working with climate change mapping systems through the UK Metereological office, and many more exciting and controversial projects.
My family are from Saint Helena, it is isolated in as much it is hard to get to but it is not isolated in terms of technology.

what an interesting accent, I had to listen a few times, and there were still words I didn't understand. people on islands like st. helena are fortunate to live so isolated from the more advanced world and all our problems. thanks for the video.

It's a beautiful accent, intonations of Irish, west country, Devon, Cornish. Listening to it is like hearing the missing link between the accents of England, and modern, post colonial eaccents, such as those heard in Australia, New Zealand, and even the US and Carribean. Thanks for posting this. St.Helena is very isolated and it's hard to get audio source material like this.
