This running routine from Terrence Mahon, head coach of the Mammoth Track Club, will strengthen your feet, reduce overpronation, and teach your body proper running mechanics. Terrence is joined by Ryan Hall's teammates, Josh Cox and Sara Hall, to demonstrate. For more videos and blogs, visit facebook.com/mastertheshift

  • @CanVoiceBari Skipping rope is also good as contacts are fast and continuous (improving elasticity).....Line hops (lateral/side-to-side of a line as well as above and below a line) are good for improving ankle strength and ground contact

  • would working on these drills with a skipping rope be just as beneficial for strengthening feet and building speed? thanks for the insightful videos!

  • Can you do these hops barefoot for greater effect?

  • Nice drills. Terrance demonstrates a ridiculous heel-toe landing in the beginning. If people were to land the way Terrance was demonstrating, they would have to have their foot out in front of the center of mass, hence overstriding which increases risk of injury in a big way. Show us where Josh Cox or Sara Hall run like that. They don't. They land on their mid foot, under their center of mass, not on their heels with their toes up in the air.
