Whoops, I accidentally clicked "remove" instead of "reply" to a gentlemen's comment. He suggested changing the explorer.exe file, and then making the original file be like, explorer1.exe. The problem with this is that some virus scanners may get rid of system files if they have extensions (eg:explorer1 or explorer_trav). This is why I kept the original named as it was, and just linked to the new one, much easier to correct if your virus scanner flips out on you.

when i type in regedit it says "regedit is not valid Win32 application"
HELP

If you're getting that message than there are probably a few flaws with your computer. I wouldn't reccommend messing around in the registry if you might have the chance of not being able to access it.

Sorry to hear that, it's been successful for most people, but not for everyone! I assume you've restored ok?

You don't have to restart the computer. Just close explorer and open explorer_trav.exe Task Manager

Very True! However, for the average user the easiest path is probably to restart or log off, thanks for putting that out there tho!
