I don't know if you can help me, i've been watching some of your songs lately for I am looking to buy a harmonica soon. I was wondering if you had any ideas on a good one to start up. I'd love to play some lament and blues, I don't know if this helps. Thanks a lot for your help and for those beautiful pieces.

@maxime19bouvrette Thanks. It is not worth buying a really cheap harmonica, so my recommendation would be the Hohner Special 20 which is a good ten hole diatonic harmonica and is not too expensive. An alternative brand would be The Suzuki Harpmaster which I also like a lot. The diatonic harmonica doesn't have all the notes of the chromatic scale, so you will have to learn to 'bend' notes and this what gives that bluesy sound. Good Luck

That is some great blues. From what blues I have played and I assume you do the same do you play it different each time you play? When I play I have no particular pattern to play just what ever the feeling comes over me that goes with the cords. Is yours that way?

@harmonicamans Thanks for that and yes that's pretty much how I do it especially when improvising around the tune. I will often on certain songs, do the vocal melody on harp and then improv fill in the musical phrases and these more often than not will be different when I play it again!!

Thanks for your kind words. Just the start only as it's very hard to tab. -2=draw hole 2 +4=blow hole 4 -3*=half step draw bend on hole 3 -2**= whole step draw bend on hole 2. Birds in the sky you know how I feel-2, -3*+4-4, -4-2-3*+4-4 Sun in the sky............-2-2-2**-2, -3*+4-4 You know how I feel -5-5-5-4-4.
