Try a Chi for ur new flat iron... Im mixed with mexican and black n i have really thick, curly, sorta course hair n its long n it usually takes me like like 2 hrs also but with the chi it takes ALOT less time n i dnt have to put as much product or effort into it...

Another thing you can try is take claritin clear, it helps setttle down something? but it really stops the itching alot.
