why dont they write the message in latin alphabet since they clearly speak english?? i know that using binary code gives the impression "we found the common universal language and whatnot" but binary code, ASCII or any alphabet are just constructs of the same human mind and there is nothing universal about it.

Just because there most likely is life elsewhere in the Universe doesn't mean that they come here to draw in our wheat fields. If they are so smart wouldn't they realize that we can duplicate these glyphs (and people DO create elaborate works of art in fields)? Why not make a message on the moon's surface where it would be unmistakably of alien origin?
