China has 1.3 billion people. The odds are in their favor to win the medals. China is gradually coming out of its centuries-old closed-door policy and is nourishing sports development. Their medal count has gradually increased since they first entered the olympics decades ago.

In Athen Olympic won a whopping 65 gold

In 08 Oylmpic Bejing won 51 gold medals

@cabinpimp it was pretty impressive. A gold sweep in female short track, that figure skating gold and silver, it was pretty good. Because you have to know that winter olympic sports are really a luxury, many countries can't afford it. Ski equipment, facilities, bobsledding, luge, Canada's a lucky nation to be able to have all that stuff.
