Originally performed by Nina Simone. Jeff performed it live at the Spot Coffee, Buffalo, on December 9th 1996. That was a date of the Solo Phantom Tour when he wanted to do his own thing without all of the attention that he was getting. That day he was billed as Father Demo.

Had he done an "official" cover of this on his next record I have no doubt that it would have become his next "Hallelujah." Nina's version is amazing and Jeff interprets it soooo well. Too bad this is the only version floating around out there.
