  • They've been doing it that way for centuries.

    If it works, why change it?

    They use pamar, or meteoric iron in the construction of their blades.

    The nickel in the iron really stands out.

  • Wow... I have a blacksmith book from 1940 and there is an excerpt about Smiths in Java... and from the drawings in the book and what the author described, they haven't changed at all since when the book was written.

  • now i see y they cost a few thousand for a traditionally made blade
