  • Yup she said it. "Booby".

  • Did she say "booby"?

  • Heres what she says about Social Security

    Hilliary Clinton on Social Security

Opposes all efforts to privatize Social Security. Has stated her plan for Social Security is fiscal responsibility first, and then deal with any long-term challenges. Would support the creation of a bipartisan commission.

  • i thought she was jokeing when i saw her in the running. PULL OUT ALREADY!!!

  • Hillary Clinton references how good the prospects were for SS when her husband left office; however, I am not sure this is correct. Look at the 2001 CBO Report (based on final year of President Clinton) projecting the $5.6 trillion surplus and you will find this:

"Over the longer term, however, budgetary pressures linked to the aging and retirement of the baby-boom generation threaten to produce record deficits and unsustainable levels of federal debt."

  • Again, SSI is not part of Social Security (though the SSA administers it), so you're wrong about that. And it is NOT paid for through the SS Trust fund, so you're wrong about that too. Snopes also disagrees with your claim that "Social Security was taken from a trust fund into the GENERAL fund by the democrats". So you're WAY off target. Don't believe chain mail. Partisans use it to spread misinformation and propoganda.

  • Social Security was taken from a trust fund into the GENERAL fund by the democrats. What I'm speaking of is called supplemental security income. It doesn't matter what you call it, it's a form of social security coming from the Social Security fund that you & I pay into. I've seen many other references regarding Carter signing this, but I will research. Seems everything else is on target.

  • Uh, you may want to re-read it. Snopes says that A) SSI is NOT Social Security. B) It is paid for from the GENERAL fund, NOT through Social Security payments, and C) NIXON, not Carter, signed it into law - so if you hate it, you're blaming the wrong President.

  • Snopes verifies what I said....the only difference is that the bill for immigrants receiving payments is SSI (Supplemental)...which STILL comes from the social security fund and it's available to anyone...regardless if they've paid in or not.

  • I looked it up on snopes. Most of what you say is urban legend from an old email chain(read: lies by partisan hacks), including your 4th point. Go to snopes, and search for Jimmy Carter. It's the first one.
