MegaSquirt 2 Extra on 3000GT - Idle Tuning

I finally got time to work on this again, but I have been struggling with tuning the idle. It would idle at 1300rpm around stoich AFR, and would only idle slower at more than 21 AFR. It turns out my IAC was only randomly working. It's been so long since I drove this car that I forgot about the IAC being bad!

So I fully-extended the IAC pintle and disconnected it. I got the car warm and tuned idle in no time at all after that. As you can see from the video it is idling smoothly now at ~800rpm and ~14.7AFR.

Next week I will be tuning the VE and Ignition Timing tables for low-mid rpms. Also I will tune the Cranking Pulse Widths, After-Start Enrichment, and Warm-Up enrichment tables for the summer weather.

Well you have customizable logging, AFR tables for use with wideband O2 (like the stock closed-loop mode), spark advance tables, and a built-in boost controller. You can put in low-Z injectors. You can also control ignition coil dwell and spark duration, fuel injector PWM setup, and now even closed-loop idle air control. Almost forgot, you can connect other sensors like EGR or fuel pressure if you have them.

Just be aware you will be forced to learn how this stuff works!

I see, so how hard is it to install it to the 3000 GT? Do you have to do a lot of work with the harness?
