This about the destruction of the entire character of Newton Le Willows, Croft, Winwick, Lowton, Golborne and the surrounding area for miles around including Wigan, Warrington and South Lancs.

For good there will be no going back.

It concerns an "eye watering" 6 million extra HGV's concentrated right in one of the most traffic congested areas of the United Kingdom. Apart from the devastating environmental impacts it could well have negative economic benefits and actually lose the region jobs.

It's in an area where traffic borne air pollution is below EU standards.




Wildlife, huge areas of green belt, farmland are to be destroyed. The green corridor across this region will be impacted.

And the tragedy? The heart rending tragedy?

It will bring few or no new jobs. In the long run it could even mean fewer jobs due to the impact of traffic congestion on regional development. A fact not lost on Maidstone MBC who rejected a similar proposal for these very same reasons.

It will serve no one therefore except the American Developer!
