Would you pay $20 for a bottle of water? Scott Harrison hopes so. He founded charity: water just over a year ago with a novel fundraising model: charge 20 bucks for water and use the money to bring clean water to some of the 1.1 billion people who don't have it.

So far he's raised $1.5 million dollars and brought over 200 wells to some of Africa's most needy countries. In this conversation he explains how he transitioned from a high-end party promoter who was "the most selfish person I knew," to a force for change in the face of a growing global crisis.

How bad is it? Harrison explains the problems contaminated water cause and offers his perspective on the potential for mismanagement by aid organizations. Plus he shares video from his September birthday, which he celebrated in Kenya by digging a well at the Mogotio Clinic.
