Great video, thank you!
-
how do you know if you went through the other side of the vain?
-
great job, Billy!!

i really like how the video provides instructions on the things that you'll need and shows u how to do it. the instructions are pretty helpful for someone who really has no idea how to do it.

"This patient's intubated, so she's probably not too concerned." -- LOL!! Probably not, Billy.. :)

The evil joe arpaio and the mummified governor jan brewer .. you ruined the video with these people... btw zetas and any cartel are so violent because mexican corruption, and obviosly because americans wants their medicine...

I hate needles don't tell my professorO.p lol
is a good vid! but if your in the field & you need an IV your next step is to get that person to a mad center. without proper trained personel i don't think i would want an IV. they could cause an air emboli or have a drip rate set to high & with to much fluid it will cross over into the lungs. or in the case of profuse bleeding it can cause the blood to be pushed out faster & leave the paitent full of 0.9%nss. also priming the drip chamber was'nt shown. nor checking the exp date & clarity.

@msisemore71 You are right with the concern. If starting an IV, then the person should know what they are doing. Fortunately, it's hard to get an air embolus on the venous side, but possible if the entire tubing is not primed (filled with IV fluid). I would like to suggest that anyone interested in this level of invasive care attend a basic EMT class.

The IV fluid is typically sterile 0.9% Normal saline. To replenish this type of fluid requires the ability to triple distill water in a sterile setting, add the amount of NaCl (without contamination in it), and package it in a way that maintains the sterile setting. This is why many people away from advanced medical care die of diarrhea/dehydration. It is not feasible to home brew IV fluid. Oral rehydration is your next best option (see previous video for that one). Great question.
