Most people don't cure it. They get it, they get over it, and that's the end of it. They often never even know they had it. It can be dangerous sometimes, for pregnant women for example, or the very old or weak. I doubt there is any real cure other than symptomatic treatment, but I'm not a doctor. I think it's interesting because it supposedly changes the host's behavior to favor its own survival, and because such an apparently large fraction of the populace has had it (and they don't know).

I was reading copy straight off wikipedia. Not being a trained announcer, I was finding this pretty difficult to do. I sound like that because I'm concentrating very hard on not screwing up. As it was, I could generally get through about 10 seconds before making a mistake. Then I'd stop the recorder, back up a bit, and pick up from there.

Are you saying Siegfried and Roy may have been attracted to big cats because they possibly contracted encephalitis. Making them unconsciously seek out life threatening encounters with man eating cats.
