  • @mspice7285 Well, the original song in japanese was "Ue O Muite Aruko" by Kyu sakamoto, which means literally "I look up when I walk ". But I guess they renamed it "Sukiyaki" to make it simple for the US Americans to identify with? This was afterall a song that topped the USA billboard with its entirety in Japanese in 1963, which I believe americans of that generation should be familiar with.
