Welcome to Reynosa....

Shootout in Reynosa,Mexico, 10 dead.

A top Gulf Cartel leader is believed to be among those killed during violence that broke out across the city Tuesday, U.S. officials said.

Mexican federal authorities shot Héctor Manuel Sauceda Gamboa during a firefight at his home on Reynosa's southwest side. Their raid on the alleged kingpin's residence triggered the fighting between military forces and cartel gunmen that left at least five more dead across the city's southwest sector, officials said.

Sauceda, also known as "El Karis," is believed to be the head of Gulf Cartel operations in Reynosa and a high-ranking member of Los Zetas, the cartel's paramilitary wing made up largely of former military officers.

Gunfights leave 10 dead in Reynosa

MEXICO CITY — Running gunbattles between Mexican soldiers and gunmen flared in a quiet neighborhood in Reynosa near the Texas border Tuesday, leaving at least 10 people dead and 15 wounded, as protesters in border cities railed against the troops.

The gunbattles, which are escalating in their intensity, and the protests, which are mounting against the federal government, are pitching Mexico, particularly the border regions, even deeper into turmoil.

Local media in Reynosa reported that Tuesdays dead included five federal policemen and five gunmen. However, two of the dead were middle school students killed running across a park to safety, according to unconfirmed reports. The conflict could not be resolved Tuesday night.

The firefights, which involved automatic weapons and grenades, began when police stopped a vehicle at a checkpoint near an elementary school in an upscale neighborhood of Reynosa, according to reports. That set off gunbattles through the streets, with gangsters commandeering vehicles and using them to block intersections.

  • Thanks America for arming the cartels.. and for your drug adicted citizens that pay their salaries.

  • these cartels are crazy bastards..vive el cartel del golfo
