Obama reaches out to working class in Indiana - 06 May 08

Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer reports on the next stop in the election campaign.

US Democrats Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are just hours away from their next big contest in their bids for the party's nomination.

Indiana and North Carolina vote on Tuesday - but do not offer enough delegates to give either candidate a knockout blow.

Obama is hoping to stifle Clinton's surge in the race. He is especially concerned about Clinton's strength among the working class whites.

You see, that's what got his campaign to also be labelled elitist, as people kept saying that Hillary's supporters are uneducated and dumb and they even charicterise us as racist. I'm a young, brown supporter of Hillary who is educated and has a different ethnic background, and so to say we're stupid is insulting.
